The solution: built the document in InDesign based on the company's brand grid and added an additional panel for the navigation bar, retaining the general formatting of a standard tabloid page. The side panel dimensions were calculated to have a finished 16:9 ratio on the spread for on-screen review. A template was created from this document for continued use.
